Event Details

In 2005, Time named Diane Knippers one of the 25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America. The late Institute on Religion and Democracy president led IRD from the early 1990s until her untimely passing away just months after her acknowledgement in Time. The Diane Knippers Memorial Lectures serves to both honor her legacy while providing a space for discussion about a relevant topic.

On October 1, The Weekly Standard Executive Editor and IRD board member Fred Barnes will speak about faith and politics in an election year. Mr. Barnes was senior editor and White House correspondent for the New Republic from 1985 to 1995. He covered the Supreme Court and the White House for the Washington Star before moving to the Baltimore Sun in 1979. He served as the national political correspondent for the Sun and wrote the "Presswatch" media column for the American Spectator.

The University of Virginia alumnus has also appeared on Fox News, Nightline, Meet the Press, Face the Nation, and the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

RSVP to event coordinator Kristin Rudolph (krudolph@theird.org) or use the one-click registration below.

This event is free. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you!
